Chapter 29 Summary :
This chapter mainly highlights the devotion and love of, one of the important disciple Balappa which he had for Swami Samartha. We will come to know the virtuous qualities he had, like devotion, patience, dedication by reading this chapter. When he started working for Swami He never differentiated the kind of seva he was given.Whatever it was, he did it with purity of heart and with devotion.Though he was a very rich man never showed it off. The first seva he got to do for Swami was to clean the bowl in which Swami used to spit. He did this seva with love and happiness. He undoubtedly believed Swami is 'Sakala Deva Swaroopa' (seeing all forms of God in Swami) and worshiped Him with immense love.He was blessed to receive Swami's love and grace in return. Balappa had special place in Swami's heart.
Sundar Bhai who also used to serve Swami always abused and spread false rumors about Balappa. He never gave importance to her and never lost patience. Whenever she behaved bad, he used to look at Swami but never expected nor asked Swami to interfere in this matter and warn Sundar Bhai for her bad behavior.Instead, he always thanked Swami mentally and was happy that Swami was removing his bad karma in this way and he even more actively participated in Swami's seva.
Seeing his steadfast devotion Swami also showered His love, grace on him and always ensured that Balappa spent most time with Swami. Balappa was very fortunate and blessed. Before leaving His physical form, Swami Samartha throws up "Atma Paduakalu" from His mouth and presented it to Balappa and blesses him to be "Balappa Maharaj".
Baktha Balappa is an ideal to all of us.How to serve Sadhguru with love and devotion can be read and learnt from this chapter. His story will make us understand a devotee should have respect, dedication, faith, love, determination and most importantly patience to serve Guru and to win His grace and make a special palace in Guru's heart.
